Interviews with five of the actresses in the new film
The tales of Cinderella and The Queen of Hearts never cease to fascinate children and the young at heart. Disney is premiering a new film in its Descendants series entitled Descendants: The Rise of Red. The film centers on the adventures of Red, the rebellious daughter of the Queen of Hearts, and Chloe, Cinderella's perfectionist daughter. The film is directed by Jennifer Phang whose prior directing credits include the film Advantageous and episodes of the TV series The Flight Attendant and Foundation.
In a series of two interviews I spoke with five of the actresses, all very charming, who are appearing in the new film. In the initial interview I talked with cast members Ruby Rose Turner, Morgan Dudley and Dara Reneé. Ruby's prior credits include the TV series Coop and Cami Ask the World, while Morgan Dudley has appeared in TV's Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and the Netflix film A Tourist's Guide to Love. Dara's credits include Grey's Anatomy as well as 37 episodes of High School Musical: The Musical: The Series. The interview, in which the actresses discuss working with Jennifer Phang and navigating special effects, is below.

In a second interview I spoke with Kylie Cantrall who plays Red and Malia Baker who performs Chloe. Kylie's prior credits include appearing in High School Musical:The Musical:The Series, and Malia has appeared in such TV shows as The Baby-Sitters Club and Are You Afraid of the Dark? The full interview of the two actresses, in which they discuss, among other topics, what the cast liked to do for fun off-hours, can be seen here:
